Trust me, you NEED this book in your life...
I don't plug books very often (apart from my own, of course, which I intend to do shamelessly in the coming months...) - but I had to make an exception for this.

Typhoon is a breathtaking spy-thriller by brilliant author, Charles Cumming, set in China in the lead-up to the Olympic Games. I read it when it was first released in hardback and it's quite simply a fantastic novel. It was listed by The Times as one of the Top 10 Thrillers of 2008 and is now available in paperback (see pic left). I have it on good authority that it's available on Amazon and is also currently being offered on a 3 for 2 deal at Waterstone's.
What I particularly liked about this novel (especially given that I'm not usually a thriller gal) is the surprising depth of emotion explored in the characters. It's so much more than a 'spy-shoot-em-up' novel and moves at a stunning pace.
Enough eulogising! Go and treat yourself!
